Mobile ‘apps’ will boost adoption of online ordering across the full range of commercial papers, sign and display, digital media, industrial packaging, and other products.
Enhanced search capability on the shopping site will flag stock availability and suggest alternatives or related items if a product is unavailable from the company’s huge range. Account customers request quotes, check stock availability instantly, and place orders directly off the local warehouse floor twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
According to Andy Preece, executive general manager Spicers in the region, more than three hundred Spicers customers are currently making use of the convenience and transparency the online store provides, reflected in the growth of online sales exceeding one million dollars in the past few months.
“Online shopping is a reality in our society and we are making sure that our customers can access our whole range of paper and printing supplies at the touch of a button. We are also looking at developing mobile ‘apps’ to fit with the latest technologies. I am excited about the next phase of this business approach at Spicers, as we continue to help bring our customers’ ideas to life”, said Preece.
Development of the online store began last year, stemming from customer feedback that showed a keenness to explore additional purchasing options. The online store is so personalised it even includes the customers’ specialised pricing arrangements. Customers also have the ability to access and clone up to twelve months of their order history.
