"I could throw a deck of cards on the table and they can land in any orientation and this system will take a photo of the table and automatically load 52 individual files," says Jason Hay, national sales manager Spicers, about the Elitron SDC cutter's advanced file recognition software.
The ultra-fast system is an automatic cutting and finishing solution with outstanding speed of up to 102 m/min.
"Its unique selling feature is the Seeker System which automatically recognises printed images and reference points," says Hay.
"I could throw a deck of cards on the table and they can land in any orientation, whatever, up and down, they don't have to be perfectly parallel to each other, and this patented system will take a photo of the table and automatically load those 52 individual files. So, that's where this one really stands out from the competitors."
The Elitron also features a multi-tool head for cutting, creasing and engraving materials up to 120mm thick, automatic tool presetting, an impressive working area of 3100 x 2000 mm, and is suitable for cutting rigid medias.
"It also comes in a static table and a conveyer table so you can actually go with the either/or option, depending on your workflow. It comes in a single gantry, a dual gantry and it doesn't need a fully qualified operator to run it," says Hay.
"This is a fully completed, industrial system, weighting about three tonnes but it all comes in one piece. It comes out of the crate and we can have it installed in approximately two or three days. It takes just a couple of engineers to do it. The Elitron continues to attract interest from all kinds of sign and display companies."
The Elitron SDC is priced at $207,000, and the static tables are $197,000.
