PAGE re-turns to print excellence

Canberra printers celebrated long into the night at the 2011 Page Awards, with over 180 print players honouring the crème at the Hotel Realm.

The overall winner of the evening was Paragon Printers Australasia with four category wins while Shannon Rennie from Pixel to Paper took home the young achiever award. Three companies with two awards apiece included Cre8tive, 2B Advertising & Design, and Blue Star.

According to Barry Neame, Printing Industries ACT general manager, the 2011 Page Awards were one of the most successful to date with over 200 entries across all categories.

“When the industry is going through a tough period we still had as many people as last year, the numbers and entries are still strong. The evening went on well after 11:30pm with guests heading downstairs to the bar for another two hours.

“It gives people a great opportunity to network, offering them a chance to share experiences and commentary about the industry’s present and future,” he says.

He finds the PAGE awards are not just craft awards; they also take into account the partnership between client, agency and supplier. Recognising the efforts that are required to deliver truly successful projects are all part of the judge’s considerations.

“While the traditional award categories are still offered, the PAGE awards establish a range of awards to reward innovation, environmental responsibility, great partnerships and the special achievements of the industry's young achievers,” says Neame.

The ACT Awards were rebranded PAGE in 2008, to stand for Print and Graphic Excellence.
