Pageset gets down to business with government grant

An $11,000 grant from the Victorian government helps Melbourne prepress specialist, Pageset, turn its business in new directions.

Victorian small business minister, Joe Helper, awarded Pageset the Grow Your Business grant yesterday at its Mount Waverley headquarters. $3 million worth of Grow Your Business grants have been awarded to Victorian businesses since February 2007.

“Pageset will use the Grow Your Business grant to help develop a strategic review and business development plan to cope with extensive growth and move the business forward,” Helper said.

According to managing director, John Della, Pageset decided to apply for the grant as a way of investing in its future. “It’s all about growing your business and we want to lay down the building blocks for sustainable growth,” he said.

Established in 1988, Pageset has 51 full-time staff working in nine different locations along eastern Australia and exports 10 per cent of its printing plates to New Zealand, Hawaii and mainland USA through its major client, McPhersons Printing Group.

Della attributes keeping abreast with the latest technology and trends as key to Pageset’s longevity.

“We have a number of divisions in our business that have potential for expansion and growth he said. “Our CtP is as strong as it’s ever been, but we need other elements to contribute to our success. Without investing there is no return.”
