Pantone upgrades its range with new tints guide
The Pantone tints guide is used by printers, graphic designers and prepress professionals, and displays tints of more than 1,114 different Pantone colours. The guide is available on coated and uncoated stock and has been redesigned for greater utility, now featuring more prominent colour blocks and tint effects that bleed off the page for easier press checking.
Pantone marketing product manager Joanna Sluja claims the guide was redesigned with the intention of offering a more accessible package. “The Pantone tints guide is an important visual reference for predicting what will happen in print,” she says. “The new fan deck format provides more colour area and eliminates the guesswork in the selection of legible tints and solid colour effects.”
The remodelled tint effects are emphasised as the most important improvement in the new guides, designed to simplify the colour checking process. “The bleeding edges will be especially valuable to printers and creative pros when comparing colours and conducting colour checks on press,” says Sluja. “The guide eliminates the time-consuming workarounds printers were forced to endure to ensure they had a good color match,” says Sluja.
The new Pantone tints guide will be available from the May 27 2005, and will include a two-volume coated set of 559 color pages and a two-volume uncoated set of 559 color pages. Pantone products can be ordered in Australia and New Zealand from the Print 21 Online Pantone Shop.
