Park Douglas Printing says new iCtp system is best by country mile
Mildura-based printing company, Park Douglas Printing, installs first Plate-Writer 2400 iCtp system in regional Victoria from Australian Graphic Servicing.
According to Shane and Chris Smith and Simon Daymond, owners of Park Douglas Printing the installation was part of an upgrade and move to make the company greener. “Our old imagesetter and processor were getting very tired and we wanted to make sure we were doing our best to be as green as we could possibly be, so we looked at the PlateWriter iCtp system from AGS,” said Smith.
“Given the ease of using the system, the time saved, no developers and a markable difference in the quality of our print it’s been a great investment.”

Park Douglas Printing is an established printer servicing clients around Australia for nearly 30 years, running two two-colour Solna Presses, as well as single colour Heidelberg A2. “We print general single, 2-and 4-colour commercial jobs, and specialise in quality coaster printing for pubs and clubs all over Australia. Given the distance we are from the major cities Chris said we wanted a system that was simple and easy to maintain, with no costly maintenance contracts and at an affordable price the iCtp gives us all of this and more,” Smith added.
The iCtP designed and built by Glunz & Jensen in Denmark uses the same aluminum plate, but without the sensitised coating. Advanced inkjet technology jets a patented Liquid DotTM formulation onto the plate to add the areas that customers want to be oleophilic on the printing press.
