Patent victory for Vistaprint
Trial by jury clears Vistaprint's on-line studio of infringing ColorQuick’s patent on preparing production data for a print job.
The five-day trail in the US concludes a two-year litigation case with ColorQuick seeking a permanent injunction against Vistaprint's on-line studio, which allows customers to design business cards and postcards.
Robert Keane, CEO of Vistaprint says the trial victory was very important, "we take allegations involving intellectual property and our technology very seriously and will vigorously defend ourselves in the event of such allegations.
“The jury's decision validated our position that Vistaprint's innovative technology in no way infringed ColorQuick's patent. Vistaprint is ready to bear the expense of litigation when necessary to defend and enforce our innovation and proprietary rights.”
