The Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA) has reported a bumper membership month in November, signing up a record number of new members.

PIAA now has over 1,040 members including newest recruits Jabiru Printing, Colour Copy Centres, United Printing and Packaging, DTS Communicate and Kwik Kopy Bondi Junction.

CEO Jason Allen said the boost reflected the three-year business transformation currently underway across all areas of the organisation.

“We are now providing industry-leading support, training services and market leading partnerships to empower the print, packaging and visual communication sectors as the industry evolves,” said Allen.  “What we have achieved in the past month in terms of membership growth represents 46% of total new subscriptions for the entire year and we are buoyed by this.”

Allen said PIAA had taken ‘a fundamental look’ at the way the association was being run, including interaction with its members and industry partners.

“The business transformation journey we are undertaking is about putting our members at the centre of what we do, a fresh approach to the way we work and realigning the way we operate. These figures just go to show that we are on the right track.

“Anecdotally we have heard from new members that the quality of our sales calls and client interaction have been much more effective than ever and that was paramount to them joining. Businesses are looking for ways to promote themselves and we facilitate this through our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, social pages and networking opportunities.”

The current PIAA membership tally remains a long way down from the glory days when the association had over 3,000 members.
