Platinum fundraiser Car 15 - Variety Bash report day 11 to 12
Nearing the end of the Variety Bash, our print trio is only an hour away from boarding the Tasman ferry, the Spirit of Tasmania.
According to Phillip Rennell, sales and marketing director at Currie Group, the event has been an adventure but all are looking forward to the finish line. “The Tamar valley was picturesque with wineries dotted amongst it, and the window has been working fine since our roadside fix yesterday.
“We stayed overnight in Launceston. We qualified as a platinum fundraiser at last night’s awards because of our fundraising efforts. The whole event has raised a total of $1.15 million so far for Variety Victoria, which is fantastic,” he says.
Because of the awards night the team had a late start, print trio Rennell, Peddlesden and Benjamin climbed into the car to traverse up through the great lake area and then down to Devonport to board tonight’s ferry.
“We are looking forward to getting into our own beds and returning to some normality. It has been a great event and we have had a great time but we are looking forward to returning home,” says Rennell.
