The Swedish print finishing equipment manufacturer and subsidiary of bicycle-maker Grimaldi, will maintain production at the UK-based Morgana manufacturing site at Milton Keynes.

In Australia, Ferrostaal distributes Morgana while Plockmatic goes through a number of distributors including Fuji Xerox Office for its offline products, with Ricoh and Fuji Xerox both integrating the company's inline booklet makers in their digital engines. In a statement Plockmatic assured Morgana customers that the distribution would remain the same.

The excellent Morgana distribution network is one of the reasons Plockmatic chose to acquire Morgana. We will look for opportunities to combine our product portfolios in different ways to meet customer requirements all over the world.

While both Plockmatic and Morgana operate in much the same equipment space, the UK company is recognized for mainly making offline finishing equipment while the Swedes are leading suppliers of in-line booklet making systems custom designed for the mid-range digital print segment. The combination of the two companies will dramatically increase the range of equipment from a single source.

Morgana will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swedish firm whose CEO, Jan Marstorp, will head the new group.  Quen Baum will continue as managing director of Morgana, at Milton Keynes (pictured).

Plockmatic International is part of Grimaldi Industries Group, a diversified Stockholm-based holding company that makes some of Europe’s leading bicycle brands like Bianchi, Peugeot and Gitane.

“The acquisition of Morgana gives us access to the product development, technology and distribution capabilities we need to reach more customers all over the world,” said Salvatore Grimaldi, owner and CEO. “I’m delighted to welcome Morgana to our group of companies.”
