Sydney-based print manager PMA Solutions has rebranded as PMA Global as it continues a global expansion strategy.

“The rebranding reflects PMA’s global reach and its plans to expand further internationally into different regions in the near future,” said MD Phil Okill, who established the company in 1988.

PMA now employs over 150 staff at 8 locations in 5 countries, including offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The company's first international operation opened in Malaysia in 2008 and it now has offices in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.  In 2011, PMA bought New Zealand print management company Trio, based in Auckland. The company also has an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil that acts as a base for sales in South America and its most recent expansion has been in Manilla, Philippines.

According to a press release, a focus on the needs of the client has driven the company’s success since it began operating 27 years ago:

With companies at the time dealing directly through print manufacturers, Phil believed that there was an opportunity to reverse the traditional focus from production and press capabilities to client requirements and service. Key to this strategy was total independence from any manufacturing capabilities - allowing unbiased supplier selection and the best market rates to be sourced and shared with clients.

With its first order being a box of business cards for the tradesman who connected the electricity, it did not take long for this approach to soon attract a wide range of companies keen to improve the ways in which they managed their print and distribution requirements.

PMA's continued success over the next decade resulted in significant investment in PMA's infrastructure – with a particular focus on physical facilities, IT systems and staff. Given the exceptional growth and the evolution and expansion of service offerings beyond print to graphic design, promotional products, warehousing and logistics including fulfilment and mailing, Print Management Australia was rebranded to PMA Solutions in 2003.

PMA Global more readily represents PMA's position in the market as a global brand able to satisfy customers' needs in multiple regions. The client was, and remains, central to driving growth and strategy in PMA Global.
