PMA Solutions moves with the times

PMA Solutions saw only one answer for its ever-expanding business, and that was to relocate its premises.

Currently spread throughout three different locations in Sydney's western suburbs, the company has just commenced work on a new 25,000 metre-square warehouse based in Erskine Park, expected to be complete in late 2009.

"As the business has grown we saw a need to consolidate all three locations into one," explained Phil Shanahan, national manager of strategic sourcing.

The new super sight is 50 per cent larger than PMA Solution's current headquarters in Baulkham Hills and will accommodate its 100 staff, with room for more employees to come on board.

"It is something we have been thinking about doing for some time," said Shanahan. "It gives us the chance to bring our team together while also being large enough to accommodate future growth."

The independent supply chain manager for print, promotional material and personal safety products recently celebrated its 20th birthday by taking its staff and suppliers on a four-day sojourn to sunny Fiji.

"It was very satisfying to have the support of over 30 key suppliers and business partners for our Fiji celebrations which highlights the critical importance of our suppliers to the success of PMA, and vice-versa," said Phil Okill, managing director and company founder (pictured).

During the Fiji celebrations, Okill also talked of PMA's plans for national and offshore expansion through its agency program and a new website careers centre to attract successful agents to represent PMA's service offering.

Reflecting on PMA's two-ear anniversary, Okill paid homage to his team of staff.

"Great people make a great business and the commitment and passion of our PMA team has helped me build what we have today," he said.
