PMP at Moorebank, which prints Ikea's annual catalogue in Australia, has received an Ikea Tulip Award for Best Print Quality, Offset Printer.

The world's largest furniture retailer partners with PMP, the largest offset printing company in Australia, to print its catalogue each year, with all catalogues printed on certified paper and carrying Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approval. Ikea’s coveted Tulip Award recognises the outstanding work performed by PMP’s Moorebank team together with support from PMP’s wider national print business, said PMP in a press release.

A PMP spokesperson told Print21 that the printer's high standards, as represented by its ISO 12647-2 certification, contributed to its success. "PMP Print is committed to producing the highest quality printed materials and ensuring consistent colour standard are maintained across all jobs. This is of great importance to many of our customers like IKEA, and is why we have taken web offset colour management to greater heights both on and off press.

"Ikea’s technical understanding and quality expectation is world class. Their passion and commitment to work with their suppliers by way of education, making them feel part of the Ikea team and providing knowledge and support all help to improve their results," the spokesperson said.

Adrian O’Connor, CEO Print Australia at PMP Limited, said that selecting and maintaining the right certifications for its customers and its needs helps PMP's management meet and exceed its expectations. "When printers take the time to schedule audits and obtain certifications such as ISO 12647-2, it allows us to identify flaws, operate at a new standard of industry best practice and provide a better experience to customers," he said.
