Positive Camtec is claiming an Australian first for Kern Laser Systems cutters and engravers, with the local supplier set to host the first showing of the American company's products at a local trade show in Australia - at Visual Impact in Sydney on 12-14 September at Sydney Olympic Park.

The debut Australian trade fair showing of the Kern kit comes after the Minnesota-based company named Positive Camtec as its exclusive Australian distributor for its range of laser cutters and engraving systems.

Although Kern Lasers already has a client base in Australia, the move to appoint Positive Camtec is a show of commitment to the market, providing current and new clients with the peace of mind of a local contact on both sales and technical aspects of the product range.

“Our team at Positive Camtec has years of experience with laser engraving and cutting systems, and we are honoured to have been selected by Kern to add their high quality, feature rich platform to our product range” said Philip Trumble, managing director of Positive Camtec.

Derek Kern, vice president of Sales & Marketing for Kern Lasers, said: “After much research into the Australian market, we chose Positive Camtec due to their knowledge and expertise, but importantly their proven track record of after sales technical service and support.

“Our products have achieved an excellent reputation for build and cut quality, reliability and ease of use, and it was critical to find a partner who could meet our high expectations,” he said.

Positive Camtec will have the Kern HSE large format laser engraver (pictured) and cutting machine on show at Visual Impact held in Sydney from 12-14 September, and will carry out personalised demonstrations from its Silverwater facility following the show.

The HSE machine on show utilizes a 150 watt laser source and is able to cut and engrave plastics, metal, timber, fabric, paper, card and many other materials, as well as offering three dimensional and photo engraving.

“We are looking forward to show and demonstrate the Kern HSE Laser at visual Impact 2013” said Adriano Gut, sales and marketing manager of Positive Camtec. “It will be the first time a Kern Laser has been on show at a trade show in Australia, and we are expecting to generate a lot of interest in the entire Kern range.”
