HP’s revolutionary latex ink technology is now available in Australia and New Zealand. The HP Designjet L65500 printer which was previewed at drupa last year has been the focus of considerable industry attention.  Already 25 units have been installed worldwide.

Shane Lucas, director HP Graphic Arts South Pacific said the release of the new HP Designjet L65500 was highly anticipated.  “When we previewed this printer at drupa there was a palpable buzz in the industry.  This is revolutionary technology and is the ideal solution for those Print Service Providers (PSPs) who are concerned about environmental issues, but still want to produce high quality prints.”

An early adopter of the technology, Regan Mahoney, General Manager of Splash! in San Francisco said, "What's special and different about the HP Designjet L65500 is that it offers the high-quality you can rely on from HP, on a printer that is 104-inches wide (2.64m) and can print on a variety of materials.”

“I think HP Latex printing technology is going to provide explosive growth for us. We can offer the market sustainable printing and this technology is unavailable from any other manufacturer," he concluded.

HP Designjet L65500 Overview

Designed with the environment in mind, the HP Designjet L65500 Printer featuring HP Latex Inks and HP Wide Scan Technology offers PSPs a versatile print system that can produce a wide range of applications – from point-of-purchase displays, transit signage, wall murals and exhibition graphics to vehicle graphics and fleet marking, and a variety of exterior and interior event signage.

Together, these technologies provide durable, odorless prints; sharp, vivid image quality; application versatility; and high productivity, enabling PSPs to increase their print capacity and grow their business while reducing the impact of their printing on the environment.

Achieve outdoor and indoor application versatility

The HP Designjet L65500 Printer with HP Latex Inks produces durable outdoor and indoor applications up to 104 inches (2.64 m) that withstand the elements while also providing exceptional image quality at high resolution – up to 1,200 dpi.

Outdoor prints produced with the HP Designjet L65500 and HP Latex Inks on Original HP media achieve display permanence of up to three years unlaminated and up to five years laminated and are scratch, smudge and water resistant. HP Latex Inks are expected to provide good image quality, display permanence and durability on most low-cost, uncoated, solvent-compatible media.

HP large-format media, HP Latex Inks and the HP Designjet L65500 Printer are designed and tested together to provide optimal results with every print. HP designed 14 new large-format media – including five recyclable substrates – for optimal results with HP Latex Printing Technologies. A proprietary new HP media surface-treatment technology – designed together with the HP Designjet L65500 Printer – produces a wide color gamut and makes it possible to achieve both durability and sharp, vivid image quality on materials that do not typically print well with solvent inks.

The Intermec CN3e, part of the CN3 mobile computer series, is a mid-sized mobile computer that features extensive communication options with an enlarged keypad to support key based data in-field applications. The CN3e is the first mid-sized handheld to offer a fully integrated, independent GPS option, as well as Wi-Fi®, WWAN and Bluetooth® in a single package allowing mobile workers to maximize their efficiency on the road.

As part of the CN3 series, the CN3e shares a common architecture with the same operating systems, radio options and accessories. This provides users with a single hardware platform that supports multiple work environment requirements. The common platform minimizes disruption through faster time to deployment and simplifies maintenance and support for field service deployments.

Further enhancements now standard on the CN3e include seamless voice and data communications, fast connection to peripheral devices, easy integration into existing company networks, and a satellite-based navigation service that maximizes fleet efficiency. The CN3e also features large, hard key caps, a touch screen display, a 2 meter drop specification, and tolerance for a wide range of operating temperatures. Because the CN3e provides access to information at the point of work, it is ideally suited for direct store delivery, pick up & delivery, in-transit visibility and in-cab mobile applications.   With intelligence at their fingertips, mobile workers can now tap into the information allowing them to work fast and efficiently.

The CN3e gives provides mobile RFID read/write functionality through an optional snap-on RFID handle, enabling them to meet their current and future RFID application deployment requirements.  The CN3e runs Windows Mobile supporting direct push wireless email for real-time connectivity with corporate networks. For in-premise use, the CN3e’s support for Cisco® Compatible Extensions (CCX) ensures seamless interoperability in existing Cisco infrastructures.

Peacock Bros. also provides Intermec’s Smart Systems, a comprehensive software package for complete device management that enables installation, application software maintenance or updates, security adjustments and device settings to be performed automatically and managed remotely, reducing field downtime.
