Prevention magazine to cure women’s health market
The climate for Australian magazines is anything but healthy, but that has not stopped Pacific Magazines from launching new lifestyle and well-being title, Prevention.
Set for release in spring this year, the announcement follows Nick Chan, CEO of Pacific’s comments earlier this year that the company would be unveiling new publications at a time when rival, ACP Magazines, has axed an unidentified number of staff across marketing, editorial and sales divisions.
Chan, however, is confident that the timing is right to introduce the magazine, which will be the seventeenth international edition of Prevention, with readers across the US, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
"Prevention builds on the market confidence and momentum of our most recent launch, Women's Health, with a brand that boasts a compelling reader proposition, a uniquely defined target market – and the leading expertise, foresight and commitment of its publishing partners,” Chan said.
"Prevention joins Rodale stable-mates Women's Health and Men's Health to broaden the healthy lifestyle category – and neatly underscores our ongoing commitment to offering clients the most targeted market solutions."
Targeted at women aged 40-plus who are passionate about caring for their mind and body and leading a healthy lifestyle, the launch of Prevention will be backed by a multi-platform marketing campaign.
