Entries are open for the 2017 New Zealand Pride in Print Awards, while Konica Minolta's National Specialised Print Awards close in ten days.
Konica Minolta's new National Specialised Print Awards will close on December 16. The top prize, a $10,000 promotion and business development package, is open to Konica Minolta clients across Australia.
“We wanted to find some way of awarding the many really excellent prints our representatives see every day. Often they are produced on a Bizhub 1070, which costs around $50,000; they are delivering amazing results,” said David Casarino, National Manager Industrial Print at Konica Minolta.
“We thought a promotion package provides the best reward and so often a cash prize can get lost pretty quick in a business.”
Entries must be produced on Konica Minolta equipment, and state winners will be flown to Sydney for the national final in February. To enter, visit https://konicaminolta.com.au/nspawards.
New Zealand's Pride in Print Awards will be held on May 12, 2017, at the Wigram Air Force Museum in Christchurch. Early entries close January 31, and late entries on February 28. Online entries can be submitted via the Pride in Print Awards website, and printed entry forms will circulate from next Monday December 11.
“Based on last year, when we had 800 entries, it’s going to be a good turnout. We’re expecting that many again if not more – we seem to get more and more entrants coming through every year, which is great," said Lizzy Tankard, Events Administrator of the Pride in Print Awards.
2016's awards were taken out by Southern Colour Print for its All Blacks 2015 rugby jersey stamp, produced for New Zealand Post. “Really innovative idea – stamp production will never be the same. Clever concept and a reward for perseverance with the project,” said one judge.
2017 planning is still underway for Australia's National Print Awards, which in 2016 awarded the top gong to Adams Print for its case-bound book Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great.
