Print CEOs rough it for a night of charity

Five senior executives from Opus Print Group will join forces with other print industry figures at this years CEO Sleepout charity event.

Opus Print Group CEO, Cliff Brigstocke attended last years sleep out and found it to be a real eye opener, a truly inspirational event.

He said his perception of the homeless was left shattered last year when he discovered just how many women and children were amongst the homeless, not just older males as he had thought.

“I walked away with a totally different view, as there are actually more homeless women and children than there are older males. We got to meet those people first hand, and after hearing their stories, one night was nothing as you focus on what you can do to help the homeless,” said Brigstocke.

The Opus team led by Brigstocke (pictured), includes executive chairman Richard Celarc, sales and marketing manager Carrick Wilkie, Canprint Communications general manager Sam Holden and Ligare general manager Wayne Bywater.

Brigstocke says there is a much greater degree of interest this year, with more engagement from CEOs and managers as awareness builds each year. Opus has reined in a few of its high profile and home-based customers into coming along this year as well.

“If through my role to raise awareness I have more people understand the depths of homelessness and raise funds for the Vinnie’s cause then it has been a good night,” said Brigstoke. He testifies that the money raised goes to a great cause and asks for your support.

Notable print industry figures also taking a night to support the St Vincent de Paul charity include Fujifilm Australia’s Dave Marshall, Cheque Mates' Rodney Frost, News Limited’s John Hartigan and AAP’s Bruce Davidson, to name but a few.
