Dr Rebecca Dannock – daughter of leading print industry identity, Susan Heaney from Heaney’s Performers in Print – is asking the print community to help her buy an internet system for the African base of Elephants for Africa.
She has a target of $3500, which will enable the group to purchase internet equipment, install the internet connection, and pay for the first six months of internet usage. Click here to donate.
Dr Dannock has become involved with the Elephants for Africa (EFA) project which is dedicated to working with local communities to protect elephants and other wildlife in their natural ecosystems, by finding ways in which both humans and elephants can peacefully and productively co-exist.
She said, "Having just moved from its previous base in the Makgadikgadi National Park into the local community, the little internet this passionate group had is now a thing of the past, making it difficult to work, report and communicate.
"To continue their work, Elephants for Africa has established a fundraiser to purchase and install the necessary equipment and fund the first six months of supply"

Since gaining her PhD in Zoology at the University of Queensland in 2016, Rebecca has worked with Government, NGOs, research institutes and universities, spending much of her time conducting field work and undertaking management roles in Namibia and Zambia.
