Print goes out of fashion

Australian fashion magazine, Oyster, declares print is so last season.

The niche fashion title, which was rumoured to have ceased publication, emerged back in the newsagent’s last week sporting a new look (pictured) and cover-line that would make the hair on any printer’s neck prickle. (There must surely have been a few worried looks at XXXX, which prints over 30 000 copies of the magazine per issue.)

In spite of this claim, the magazine’s media kit spruiks its print quality: “Oyster is printed on high quality 135 gsm stock which ensures a high-quality aesthetic appeal which is superior to the majority of magazines in Australia.”

At the time of going to press, Oyster editor, xxxx, was unavailable for comment (unless she was just running fashionably late) on whether this would be the magazine’s last print edition, or to elaborate on the choice of such a cheeky cover-line. Let’s hope that none of the fashion designers profiled in the magazine decide to incorporate Oyster’s motto into their new look for the next season.
