Print meets gaming

Conceived and developed in a one-day workshop part of the OFFF Festival organized by creativeapplications.net in Barcelona on 8 June, Receipt Racer explores an alternative use of print.

Coded in openFrameworks by undef and Joshua Noble, the game uses a thermal receipt printer modified with a light beam projector to display a roaming light ‘car’, all synced up through a laptop and controlled by a Sony PS3 controller.

While an alternative use of everyday technology, this game probably wont help the global debate on green initiatives and carbon offset.

Source code and a compiled Mac version of this game is available, but be warned the project spanned a single day so the coding is bound to be a mess, and constructing this wont help your green rep.
