Print’s rock chick rolls on to the UK
Long-time print publicist and author Alison Stieven-Taylor’s latest book, Rock Chicks, makes its way into the United Kingdom.
First released last year, Rock Chicks – The Hottest Female Rockers from the 1960s to Now, features the likes of Janis Joplin and Chrissie Hynde through to Courtney Love and P!nk.
Stieven-Taylor (pictured below) said the book has already been well-received locally. “Rock Chicks has sold incredibly well in Australia and is also doing brisk business in New Zealand. As an Australian author it’s great to gain international exposure so I’m very pleased it has been released in the UK,” she said, adding that the book features chapters on legendary London rock chicks including Marianne Faithfull, Chrissie Hynde and Annie Lennox.

In her former life, Stieven-Taylor was a music publicist and self-described “door bitch” for the likes of The Angels, INXS, Mental As Anything, the Divinyls and Cold Chisel. In 1983 she moved to Los Angeles and worked as a publicist on Men at Work's North American and Canadian tour.
