Print21 publisher joins panel on profit in print
Patrick Howard, publisher of Print21, sits alongside leading print identities to discuss: Can You Still Make Money from Print? at GASAA’s spotlight session next month.
Moderated by former graphic arts editor, Steve Crowe, the panel will also include Heidelberg’s managing director, Andy Vels Jensen, Look Print’s David Leach and Paul Richardson of Lindsay Yates Group.
According to GASAA’s Garry Knespal, the four speakers are well worth listening to. “I don’t remember having such a collection of luminaries at one spot at one time before,” he said.
Knespal believes that the growing number of companies collapsing, coupled with those on the other end of the spectrum who are making major investments in new technology, makes the topic timely and highly relevant.
“It’s a topic that needs to be discussed because it’s one that resonates,” he said. “People are in business to make money. We’re hoping owners of businesses will come along and share their thoughts.”
Can You Still Make Money from Print? is the second panel in GASAA’s Spotlight series. Knespal believes it is important for the industry to discuss the important issues affecting the industry. “Unless we talk about these things, we continue to make the same errors over and over again – the issue is that the margins are so poor at the moment that prices are very tight and you can see it in the number of businesses that are falling over,” he added.
The panel takes place on 10 August at the Carnarvon Golf Club from 5:30pm. Bookings are $20 or $30 at the door, if places are still available. To make a booking, click here.
