Printech bounces back from Auckland blackout
Following a good opening day on Sunday organizers DMG had no option but to close the show as exhibitors milled around the darkened hall. The power did not get restored until late in the afternoon.
Despite this mishap exhibitors reported a good day's trading on Tuesday when the hours were extended to 9.00pm. This allowed many of the 89 vendors to re-schedule events interrupted on Monday.
No officlal attendance figures for the show have been published so far, but vendors were philosophical about the outage, some downright bullish.
Garry Muratore, Asia Pacific marketing manager for Agfa Graphics, says Printech was considered a success by the company in spite of the closure on Monday.
“The crowds recovered on Tuesday and we've seen good numbers through the doors,” says Muratore.
“On the Agfa stand we have announced some Printech success with Auckland based commercial Printer Kalamazoo placing an order for an ApogeeX workflow system, Sherpa Proofing, Acento CTP engine and our chemical free CTP plate system Azura.”
