Printers learn that business sense is a must
Western Australian distributors of Quote & Print Phil and Leith Hayes (pictured) believe that those in business of any kind need an understanding of how a good business works ...
Traditionally, owners of printing houses have usually come from a print background. This of course gives them a great understanding of the production process but little if any knowledge of how to run a business. How times have changed. Print business owners are now educating themselves on areas such as business management, sales and marketing, warehousing and of course the latest techniques in workflow and production management.
With this knowledge comes a requirement to have systems in place to facilitate the above. As distributors of Quote & Print, our users turn to us for the solutions. Over time the requests have become more detailed: our users are asking us very specific questions about what the software can and can't do and are proactive in initiating our solutions. Through its customer base and distributor network, Quote & Print has always been at the forefront of product development. With the release of Quote & Print Version 8 at PrintEx 07 we will be able to further enhance our customers' ability to manage, maintain and monitor their businesses with a range of new and improved tools such as the new Work Flow system.
At Quote & Print, we feel we have a duty to our existing and future customers to remain at the forefront of print MIS Software, so I would urge any of our users to contact their distributors with any new or improved ways they feel the software could be developed.
Our motto still stands: Designed by printers for printers.
