The country's major print industry exhibition, PrintEx, will be running its popular Forums again this year, with details to be revealed soon. They will aim to help visitors get a handle on the trends and technologies which are shaping the future.

The PrintEx organiser says that the ability to predict the direction of that change and adapt to it is probably the biggest challenge facing any business today. And perhaps no industry sector is changing faster than print and graphic communications, in all its forms.

It says terms like disruption and transformation have become commonplace across the entire graphic communications spectrum – print, sign, display, engraving, label and packaging – leaving many wondering which way to jump as they seek that elusive competitive edge.

“In such a dynamic sector, making even short-term plans can be a challenge – it’s necessary in order to grow and develop a business, but it is risky; making the wrong move can be both damaging and expensive,” said Peter Harper, CEO of PrintEx organiser and co-host, Visual Connections.

“With the PrintEx Forum Series, we bring together the experts to talk about likely future directions and present the key issues which are driving change and impacting on the products and services we offer. This will help give PrintEx visitors the information they need to get ahead of the trends.”

Commencing with a Breakfast Keynote Session, the daily programme will feature a mix of presentations, from interviews and expert masterclasses, to panel discussions and hands-on workshops - all just a stone’s throw from the exhibition floor.

The PrintEx19 Forum Series sits side-by-side with a comprehensive display of technology, products and services that will cover 6000sqm at the Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park in August 13-17.

Harper says the Forum and the Expo is the perfect complement, allowing businesses to more successfully evaluate the showcased technologies and services. He said, “As well as gaining valuable context from the Forums, the exhibition allows visitors to see products and applications in person and speak directly to product experts about their own business requirements, so that they can gauge the potential of specific investments to meet their individual needs.”
