Women in Print PrintEx speaker Deborah Corn called on women in the industry to step out of their comfort zones if they want to break the glass ceiling at the top of the industry.

Speaking to some 30 women at a PrintEx late afternoon session, Corn said, “Try stuff, don't stay in the same mould, break new ground.”

The event took place at the Waterview function centre, with New Yorker Corn sharing her story with the guests, telling them how losing her print job drove her to head in a new direction, which is now taking her all over the world.

Corn also emphasised the benefits of having a mentor, saying that “It can make a huge difference, Having that person to support you, having someone to turn to, receiving guidance is invaluable.”

Print21 advertising manager Toni Chapman was at the event, she said, "Sharing with other women in print was valuable, we had some great networking, and Deborah is a thought provoking speaker. It was great to be here."
