PrintEx03 News – Penfold Buscombe signs major proofing agreement
One of the largest digital proofing deals in recent time sees CyraChrome deliver a three-state networked system for contract and imposition proofs.
The agreement, announced at PrintEx03, gives Penfold Buscombe seven Epson 9600 large format engines, powered by ORIS ColorTuner V5, as well as three new SpinJet imposition proofers. It allows the enterprise to convert 100 per cent to digital proofing, with common tuner profiles on all the Epson machines to ensure consistency across the board.
“It’s all to ensure the group’s national standard [colour] is effective,” said David Corbo, National digital manager, Penfold Buscombe. “The aim is that no matter where the job comes from the customer is assured of the same high quality proofing and printing result.”
The proofers will be located in Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland and will all be calibrated using the new Gretag spectrophotometer. The last of the Epsons will be installed in Melbourne next week and national training will then commence using ColorTuner Version 5.
“It’s a very good system and one that will give Penfold Buscombe uniform colour and process control across its different locations. It will make a difference, ” said Russell Robertson, Southern Region Manager, CyraChrome
