Printing Industries' long serving Queensland Manager Neal McLary, has announced his retirement from the end of the year.

Neal McLary

Mr McLary is one of Printing Industries’ longest serving employees with a career spanning 33 years.

He began his employment in April 1980 as an Industrial Officer and progressed through the Association to become Regional Manager (Queensland), General Manager – Research and Development, and lastly State Manager Queensland and Project Manager.

Printing Industries CEO Bill Healey said Neal exemplified a steadfast commitment to the Association and its members and the well-being of the Australian printing industry.

“Throughout his career, Neal has witnessed some of the most interesting and challenging times that the Industry and Association have confronted ranging from the industrial turmoil of the ‘hours campaigns’ in the early eighties to the boom times for the industry in the early-nineties,” he said.

“I have greatly appreciated his support and advice since I took up the position as CEO in 2011.

“Neal has made the point to me that he considers it to have been a great honour to have served the Industry for nearly all of his working life and he leaves the Association with a host of happy memories.”

Mr Healey said Neal would continue in his role until Friday 20 December 2013 when he will go on leave before finishing his employment with the Association.

“Neal tells me he is looking forward to embracing new, and as yet unidentified, challenges and I’m sure members will join me and the Board in wishing him all the best in his retirement,” he said.

Mr Healey said that Robert Hall-Boman, Queensland Advisor, Workplace Relations, will take over the State Manager – Queensland role during the transition period and will be working closely with Mr McLary over the next few months.
