Prosperous new year ahead for SOS Print and Media

The Christmas deliveries have already begun for Sydney-based SOS Print and Media where Australia’s first Kodak Prosper 1000 has arrived.

As is to be expected from the techno-savvy company, news of the Prosper’s arrival came through its twitter account. “Christmas comes early at SOS – there might be an inkjet in the box,” Tweeted Michael Schulz, who also posted the following picture (below).

Schulz told Print21 that the machine arrived last week in bits and pieces. “It’s our Christmas present,” he said.

Ongoing talk that the company had purchased the Prosper press was confirmed in September this year, following an official release from Kodak. According to Bob Gardner, joint managing director, the press will be used to take the company into new areas.

“[It] will allow us to move into personalised catalogues, magazines, transactional documents for smaller entities like credit unions, and then direct marketing areas, which we will pursue through our partnership with U&I Direct, an established, highly sophisticated direct marketing operation,” Gardner said.
