Push button postcards delivered to Australia
Technology company PJ McKenna and Associates have launched Australia’s first mobile phone-to-postcard service which gives camera phone owners the ability to send real-life postcards through Australia Post or overseas directly through their mobile phone.
First launched overseas several years ago, McKenna said that the service was proving very popular in the UK and, as a whole, was “excellent and growing every day.” To use the service, users attach a personal message to the photo they want to send and include the postal address and where they want the postcard delivered. The system does the rest and the card is then delivered.
With the increasing fear that electronic publishing is fast encroaching upon print, McKenna admits that: “People still enjoy sending and receiving traditional paper postcards.”
Part of what makes MMS postcards so popular is that senders don’t have to do anything to deliver the product, according to McKenna. “It’s aimed at the iPod generation and boomers who are travelling,” he said.
