“Quote & Print's best PacPrint ever” – Dave Bell
Quote & Print have been exhibiting at PacPrint since 1992 and this has been the company’s best ever, according to Dave Bell - Quote & Print’s General Manager.
“We had printers queued up waiting for presentations of the latest Quote & Print features. Over 300 printers came onto the stand,” he said.

“The main area of interest was QPONLINE, Quote & Print’s internet interface,' said Dave Bell. "Today most printers are looking for a ready-made solution for the internet interface. They realise that to develop one themselves could take many months or even years. Even then they are left vulnerable if the programmer leaves. At the show we heard of one printer who had employed a programmer for three years to develop his internet applications at a cost of over $250,000
“The other reason for the interest is that Quote & Print is a completely integrated solution. It combines estimation, production control, and accounts and forms management into the one package. It is modular, so a printer will start with only the modules he requires. He can add extra modules and extra users as his business grows.”
Quote & Print joins Networked Graphics Group
At the show Quote & Print announced its membership of the CIP4 and NGP organizations . The company is committed to expanding its existing JDF functionality to meet the new JDF standards for interoperability. “JDF is exciting as it gives us the ability to interface with a wide range of prepress software, printing presses and bindery equipment” says Dave Bell.
As well as having sales staff from each state, the Quote & Print development team were also on the stand. They enjoyed the time talking to some of Quote & Print’s 500 plus users. It is at functions such as PacPrint that users get an opportunity to talk face to face to the development team and to share with them their ideas for the future directions of the product.
With two sales already in hand and with over 10 more expected in the coming weeks the Quote & Print team are looking forward to a busy end of the financial year.
