Australian-owned RapidX Digital makes headway in the US, with stateside distribution snapped up by Florida-based distributor Imidia Digital Technologies.

Rapid Label USA was bought up from Impression Technology, which continues to distribute Rapid products in Europe, as a strategic move to expand Imidia’s digital print reach in the US.

Nick Mansell, RapidX Digital, general manager, and inaugural Graphics Arts Technology Innovator of the year, said, “I would like to thank Impression Technology Americas for their past efforts and handling of the change-over and wish them well as they focus on their core textile and apparel decorating industry. Imidia Digital Technologies, Inc. is well positioned to rapidly expand the business of Rapid Label in the USA as they are currently doing in Latin America.”

Imidia Digital Technologies, Inc. was founded in 2002 and is a regional distributor of digital print media and digital printing solutions for labels, textile, large format and variable data in Latin America and the Caribbean. With its acquisition of Rapid’s American distribution, Imidia picks up 35 years of home-grown innovation and experience serving the label industry, with seven years dedicated to developing digital solution.

Herberto Pachon, Imidia’s president, endorsed the purchase, saying, “This is a strategic acquisition to expand our distribution of digital printing solutions in the USA, in a segment that is experiencing continuous growth such as label printing.”
