Ricoh believes in a better lunch
Ricoh customers and staff gather at a Sydney harbourside eatery to celebrate the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
Ricoh's latest TV ad campaign featuring the tagline "Believe in a Better Way" has been on a high rotation throughout the Olympic broadcasts so it was no surprise that the Beijing 08 games were the main topic of conversation at a recent lunch held in Sydney designed to bring together many of Ricoh's corporate customers.
Breakfast TV host, David Koch, kicked off proceedings by reminding the assembled guests that the Olympics were a quadrennial opportunity to experience once gain the beauty of many little-seen sports and for everybody to become instant experts in events such as synchronized diving.
Later it was left to a genuine Olympic expert, Kieran Perkins, to revisit a famous Australian Olympic moment from the 1996 Atlanta games and his now legendary gold medal winning effort in the 1500 metres from lane 8 of the pool.

Getting back to business, the lunch was also an opportunity for customers to meet the new managing director of Ricoh Australia, Les Richardson, who was interviewed by Koch, a former schoolmate and rugby team mate.
Richardson highlighted Ricoh's success in focusing on greater business efficiency at major customer sites such as Woolworths through the application of appropriate hardware and software solutions.
Ricoh's Transformer technology, for instance, is an example of an intelligent business solution that is built-in to a range of Ricoh MFD platforms, enabling paper documents to be scanned and converted easily into Word docs, Excel spreadsheets or searchable PDFs for ease of distribution and access.
"When we work with our clients, we can come up with some very smart solutions," said Richardson. "We like to be very collaborative with our customers."
Looking to the future, Richardson said his vision for Ricoh was to transform it from a printing company to an imaging solutions company.
