Ricoh kicks a goal for World Environment Day

Good sports from Ricoh and the Hawthorn Football Club join forces in Eco Action Day next week.

Ricoh Australia is throwing its support behind World Environment Day by holding an Eco Action Day on Thursday, 3rd June. They will be joined by staff and players from Hawthorn Football Club to help promote environmental awareness and the importance of sustainability.

"By holding a Ricoh Eco Action Day, we are trying to raise awareness of how businesses can reduce their environmental footprint by reducing their reliance on electricity,” said Pam Merlo, environment manager for Ricoh Australia.

“Our customers can take this idea further with Ricoh's Total Green Office Solution, which enables users to reduce their electricity consumption by helping them set their Ricoh machines at optimal energy settings."

Teams will compete throughout the day on 12 bicycles at Hawks headquarters at Waverley Park, to generate as much pedal power as possible. All the electricity generated using the bikes on the Future Spark trailer will be fed back into the grid to offset Hawthorn Football Club’s energy consumption for a day.
