Ricoh rolls InfoPrint into local production print group

The global integration of the former IBM-owned printing business into its new 100% owner, Ricoh, finally reaches Australia.

The long awaited integration is the result of a work in progress that has taken the best part of four years since Ricoh bought the computer giants’ printing division. The progressive takeover, completed in 2010, adds high-end production printing to the Ricoh Production Print Solutions portfolio.

The move brings Ricoh Australia in line with its overseas counterparts, many of which realigned their production print resources since the integration was announced in April this year. Ricoh subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region will now be able to offer a full comprehensive range of production printing products and solutions from high-end continuous forms to professional services and software/solutions.

“By completing the integration that began as a global rollout announced earlier this year, Ricoh Australia will be able to offer a more effective approach to the current highly competitive landscape,” said Ricoh Australia’s managing director, Les Richardson. (pictured)

“This brings new added value to the market and we can now offer a greater suite of cutting edge products, backed by the great service that people have come to expect from both Ricoh and InfoPrint,” Richardson said.

The integration broadens the scope of Ricoh Australia’s service offerings, which will now include a broad solutions portfolio spanning from the office environment to a warehousing and manufacturing environment, light and high volume production environments.

InfoPrint’s GM for Australia and New Zealand, Rene Kisselbach, said that the two companies had been “working together for some time now, and this final integration offers the ability to identify and maximise synergies between our products and offerings. Our mission and vision, synonymously with Ricoh, is to make our customers successful through the capitalisation of innovative technologies with strong business value,” Kisselbach said.

The InfoPrint 5000 has proven to be the most successful production inkjet brand in the world with the most installations. The rebadged iteration of the Screen Truepress Jet 5290, has topped installations since its introduction. The complete integration now gives the local company access to such prominent customers as Computershare.
