Rock chick rolls out new music book

There’s more to PR queen, Alison Stieven-Taylor than writing about printing. The sometimes Print21 contributor and all around public relations powerhouse has just released a new, updated version of her book, Rock Chicks The Hottest Female Rockers from the 1960s to Now.

The latest edition features three new chapters – Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, Kim Deal from the Pixies and the Breeders, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs dynamic front-woman Karen O!

“I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to add new chapters to the book – there are so many fantastic female rockers out there and these three exemplify the talent and determination that defines the rock chick,” Alison (pictured) said.

She also confirmed that the updated edition, which was released in Australia in February, would be released in the US in May. “When the first edition of Rock Chicks The Hottest Female Rockers from the 1960s to Now was released in 2007 the initial run of 10,000 copies virtually sold out so we have our fingers crossed that the US, which is of course a much larger market, will rack up sales of the updated edition!”

Now, it’s the men’s turn to step into the spotlight. “And on the strength of the success of Rock Chicks I’ve been commissioned to write another book along similar lines this time focusing on the men,” Alison added.

Any printers wanting to unveil their secret life as a rockstar  (now or in the distant past) should feel free to get in touch.
