Snap Rockdale has become the first Australian company to purchase a Lamidesk Flatbed Application Table after seeing the machine in action at last month's Visual Impact 2016 show in Brisbane.
The team at Snap was in the market for a print application solution when they heard that Brisbane-based Sign Essentials had been appointed Australian distributor for Lamidesk and would be displaying the tables at the show.
Craig Edmondson, manager of Snap Rockdale, says they decided to take a quick trip north from Sydney to check them out and were impressed with the motorised gantry on the Lamidesk EasyShift which turns a time-consuming job into a simple one-person operation.
"Everything is designed to happen at the end of the table and this makes the work area easy to access and eliminates the need to stretch right across the bed," said Edmondson. "Using foot pedals and easy-access buttons, the operator can activate the motorised gantry without moving from that position and complete the job quickly and efficiently.
“We’re starting to wonder what we did without it and we've used it every day since it was installed," he said. "Previously, only a couple of staff members were proficient in vinyl application and it was quite an exercise to mount large signs. Now, with the Lamidesk on board, anyone who needs a sign applied to substrate can do it themselves."
Sean Strange from Sign Essentials said the installation at Rockdale went without a hitch.
“We were thrilled to have Snap Rockdale purchase the first Lamidesk," said Strange. "Craig had done quite a bit of research to try to alleviate what was a significant bottle-neck in their production cycle.
"When he saw the EasyShift at Visual Impact, he could see it was the right machine for the job. Their whole team got stuck in at the installation and became application experts in no time. It was really interesting to hear about time-consuming jobs they had done in the past and how much time the Lamidesk will save them in the future.”
