Rocket Signs blasts off with HP latex ink printers
New Zealand printer signs on for HP latex machines in a mission to become the greenest of them all.
The Auckland-based printer made the decision at the end of last year to replace all of its solvent printers with the new HP Designjet L65500 printer with HP latex inks. It is now awaiting receipt of the smaller HP Designjet L25500 with HP latex inks as a complementary addition to the larger machine.
According to managing director, Ross Hall, the investment was a result of extensive research and customer demand. “We do a lot of printing for companies that have environmental policies. I believe this stance is only going to increase with more corporations and businesses adopting green practices. I wanted to have a unique selling proposition – a green proposition – which I now have,” he said.

Before the company made the move, Hall sent his production manager over to Sydney to inspect the machine first-hand. After positive feedback, Hall put in an order for one of each, and began removing his solvent printers.
Since then, there has been no looking back for Hall and his staff of 25 employees. “We’ve reinvented ourselves with our approach to green printing and the HP latex machines. I am extremely proud of my team and their commitment to making the necessary changes required to meet that ultimate green goal,” he said.
