Rocket Signs shines at New Zealand Sign & Display Awards
HP Designjet opens window of opportunity for Rocket Signs at NZ sign awards.
The New Zealand company won gold at the 2010 Sign and Display Awards in Christchurch last month in the glasswork category for its entry, Deloitte’s Decorative Window Films. The entry was printed on the company’s HP Designjet L65500 with HP Latex Inks technology.
According to managing director, Ross Hall, (pictured), the machine, which was installed last year has already proved its weight in gold. “It is fantastic that this brand new machine can win a gold medal straight away,” he said.
The job involved covering four floors of glass windows on the Deloitte’s building with optically clear film. Hall added that the latex inks created results he did not believe were possible.
“We were astounded and thrilled by the vibrancy of colours we achieved on the clear substrate,” he said. “The colour saturation was fantastic and exceeded both our, and the client’s, expectations. We didn’t think we’d get the intensity of colour given we were printing on to clear material, but the outcome proved to me the HP latex inks are … achieving better results than we were able to with solvent inks.”
Rocket Signs made the decision to replace all its solvent printers with the new HP Designjet L65500 printer with HP latex inks last year and has recently installed a HP Designjet L25500.
