Get hands on at Roland DG’s Sydney Creative Centre this Friday, and take the all-new VersaUV LEF-20 for its first spin round the block.
Roland DG opens its doors at 10am for the benchtop flatbed UV’s first public outing. And for anyone who missed the VersaCAMM VS-i series debut at Visual Impact last month, you’ve got a second chance to check out the new wide-format printer cutter in action as well.

John Wall, sales director, Roland DG, said, “Now we have taken this technology to the next level. In addition to expanding the print area, we have introduced a new LED curing system, advanced ECO-UV inks and optimised print control technology which dramatically increase the LEF’s productivity and overall performance.”
The VersaUV LEF-20 builds on the LEF series, introduced to market in 2011. With a larger print-head width of 508mm (20 inches), the LEF-20 has more than doubled its peak CMYK print speed with the introduction of a powerful UV-LED curing lamp. The lamp enables instant curing for UV inks, allowing the LEF-20 to print directly onto a wider range of substrates, including PET, ABS, polycarbonate, TPU, leather and fabric materials, as well as a number of 3D objects.
The LEF-20 also features Roland ECO-UV ink in CMYK, white and clear, offering premium varnishing and embossing effects. In its clear formulation, the EVO-UV ink can be layered into patterns and textures utilising the LEF-20’s optimised print control technology.
The VersaCAMM VS-i series, also on show, sees a number of design enhancements including front loading ink cartridges, adjustable cut settings during operation for improved flexibility and accuracy on longer jobs, and the integrated contour cutter.
Available in three print widths of 64 inches (VS-640i), 54 inches (VS-540i) and 30 inches (VS-300i), the new generation wide-format printer/cutter series incorporates Roland DG’s new ECO-SOL MAX 2 ink. White ink production is reportedly 1.5 times faster, and metallics up to 2 times faster.
According to Wall, “the new VS-i series continues Roland’s rich history of innovation and builds upon the highly successful Roland VersaCAMM range – the world’s best-selling printer in the durable graphics market. Leveraging Roland’s leading print and cut technology, renowned reliability, and ease of use, and then adding to this a range of powerful new features and usability enhancements, the VS-i is one of the most versatile and affordable solutions available, and will no doubt remain the world’s favourite printer/cutter for durable graphics.”
