Scitex Vision appoints agent in Australia
GSA is now responsible for all sales, service and customer support for the complete range of Scitex Vision digital printing presses.
GSA product and business development manager Bruce Caldwell (pictured) says he is delighted with the additions to his company’s portfolio. “Scitex Vision printing systems are renowned for their engineering and technical excellence and they will complement our existing products and services extremely well,” he says. “This is a great opportunity for GSA to play a major role in the rapidly growing wide format market and to introduce our customers to this dynamic print sector.”
Caldwell will head up a new business unit within GSA dedicated solely to managing the Scitex Vision business.
Some of the machines that GSA will be bringing to Australian printers include the VEEjet+ flat bed printer, XLjet+ 2, 3 and 5-meter ultra wide format printer, the TURBOjet, and the automated flatbed CORjet.
Yariv Avisar, president of Scitex Vision in the Asia Pacific, claims the new agreement will add further credence to the company’s presence in Australia. “The appointment of GSA as our distributor allows Scitex Vision to increase the coverage and quality of the logistics, service and support we provide in Australia,” he says. “Together with the recent appointment of an Australian-based sales director Patrick Turner, this demonstrates that Scitex Vision is fully committed to meet the needs of new and existing Australian customers in 2005 and beyond.”
Peter Carrigan, GSA General Manager, said the addition of Scitex Vision to the company’s product portfolio would reinforce its position as a complete digital systems supplier to the graphic arts industry.
“Since our formation two years ago, we have worked hard to continuously improve the range of equipment and services we present to our customers. The addition of Scitex Vision provides a new dimension for us and gives us the opportunity to expand on our already strong reputation as a leading supplier in the graphic arts industry.”
GSA is the exclusive agent in the region for Fujifilm, specialising in the sale, installation and support of digital workflow and proofing systems, computer-to-plate (CTP) systems as well as plates and prepress consumables. The company was launched in April 2003 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intergrafica Print & Pack (IPP), a major supplier of capital equipment and services to the graphic arts market in Australia and New Zealand.
Jonathan Clark, IPP Managing Director, congratulated GSA and Scitex Vision on bringing the new agency agreement to fruition.
“This is an exciting development for GSA and I wish them every success in their new venture. The combination of GSA’s presence in the local market and Scitex Vision’s technology leadership will undoubtedly open up a whole new range of business opportunities for the customers of both companies.”
