Scott Telfer brings Southern Colour north to NSW

The announcement brings to a close months of speculation since the former sales director of Promentum decided to go it alone last year. His decision to link with the well-respected Nankervis brothers, owners and operators of the Victorian-based Southern Colour business, will introduce a new element into the rapidly evolving print market along the east coast. The business is a joint equity venture between three partners.

Initially Southern Colour NSW will operate a sales facility in Sydney but Telfer confirms he is seeking a site for a new greenfield printing factory to set up production. In line with Southern Colour and Telfer’s own experience the new business will focus on servicing the high-end quality colour market and will address the corporate design community.

In keeping with his role as Chairman of the National Print Awards, Southern Colour NSW aims to introduce an unparalleled level of printing quality to the market. It has long been his view that the top end of the market is ill served in New South Wales.

The move is the first expansion by Southern Colour since it acquired Excelsior Print Group this time last year, following the earlier divestment of Impact Colour to Pacific Print Group, now GEON.
