Share the passion for print at HP Indigo awards 2011
The call has been made for all HP Indigo users to enter the fourth Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) HP Digital Print Awards by 20 July.
Founded by HP Indigo in 2008 the awards recognise achievements and innovations in the print and packaging industries across Asia. Highly qualified leaders from the graphic arts, packaging and media industries from around the world will judge the entries based on:
- Degree of innovation and creativity
- Marketing appeal
- Best use of digital technology
- Paper selection
- Best use of ink and colour
- Finishing and packaging
- Overall aesthetics
Max Kaye, ANZ country manager for HP Indigo says these awards are unique because they foster cooperation between non-competitive printers in different countries within Asia Pacific.
“As the awards are between countries, competitors are happy to share details behind how they have produced the item, and that raises the standard of creative awareness of the platform.
“It increases the awareness of what is capable on a HP Indigo press, and that’s why we do it. There is a lot of different print work being done by different people and this cross pollinates ideas between countries and markets very quickly,” said Kaye.
The APJ HP Digital print Awards 2011 can open up new opportunities for participants by allowing Print Service Providers (PSPs) to showcase their capabilities in digital printing. PSPs will also have the chance to win prizes in recognition of their prints.
Phillip Rennell (pictured), Currie Group's HP Indigo business manager says since the awards inception in 2008 its Australian customers have fared very well in these awards.

“We encourage our customers to enter the Asia Pacific & Japan HP Indigo Digital Print Awards, competition is tough and gaining recognition in this market is a great acknowledgement of the quality, care and effort that makes the difference between a good job and great result.
“This year the award ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Asia pacific Dscoop conference in Singapore (22-25th August) at which many of our customer will be attending and will be a fantastic opportunity for learning and networking among the HP Indigo Asia pacific community and their partners,” says Rennell.
