Shout goes out to young printing industry superstars
Printing Industries and the Innovation and Business Skills Council of Australia (IBSA) are combining to promote careers in the industry, to support to the new ICP05 Printing and Graphic Arts Training Package.
The project is aiming to demonstrate real life success stories of young people across a range of printing industry positions. The industry 'super stars' must be under 25 years of age, and all sectors of the industry, from mail house to sales to all levels from apprenticeships, are eligible for entry.
Rob Gullan, project consultant, says the input will be valuable for current high school students considering a career in the printing industry, as well as for the promotion of the industry as a whole.
“This information will form the basis of 'career profiles' highlighting outstanding youth from across the country,” says Gullan. “This is also a great opportunity for employers to recognise their younger staff and to demonstrate their commitment to training.”
Application forms are available to help employers provide the relevant information, contact Rob Gullan at rob@printnet.com.au or via Printing Industries Victorian Regional Office on (03) 9819 6144 and 0418 996 750.
