Showtime for Konica Minolta

A new showroom in North Ryde could be the start of more to come for Konica Minolta.

Former test cricketer and sports commentator, Kerry O'Keeffe, opened the 200 square metre premises with much humour and applause from audiences. Konica Minolta's national manager, David Procter, said that the popularity of the Bizhub Pro C6500 contributed to the opening.

"We have only been involved in digital production for the past three years, but over the last twelve months there has been significant growth due to the Bizhub Pro C6500," he said.

Eighteen months in the making, the showroom, which contains nine different configurations of equipment, controllers such as EFI and Creo, workflow from Kodak and internal bindery, is a reflection of Konica Minolta's expansion, according to Procter. "It's still a modest show room but relative to our size in the market," he said.

Customers may well see more showrooms in the future. Procter speculated that the chances of more openings were likely. "As Konica Minolta continues to grow, so too will the opportunity for additional presence," he said. "Hopefully we will have another story to tell in 24 months' time."

Open wide, come inside ... to the new North Ryde show room.
