Snap scores best employer award

Snap wows judges in WA Business News/InSync Surveys Best Employer Awards.

The company was named the joint winner of the Insync Surveys Advocacy Award and runner up in the Best Employer (Small, 25–50 employees in WA) category. The awards are based on results of an employee satisfaction survey of Snap Franchising’s Perth-based staff.  The Advocacy Award is based on how willing workers are to ‘talk-up’ their employer.

According to Snap CEO, Grant Vernon, (pictured), it is important for employees to enjoy themselves at work. “If people aren’t enjoying being here then they are not motivated to put in the effort that will give the best result,” Vernon said. “We want Snap to be a great place to work.”

Initiatives run at Snap Franchising include a ‘fun-in-the-workplace’ program, launching a vision statement and core values and communication sessions. Under the program, Snap participated in Australia’s Biggest Morning tea but incorporated a cooking competition to better engage workers.

Vernon added that the fun was not confined to the Snap Franchising office and was a culture that extended throughout the company’s 150 franchises.  “Our training academy, the Snap Academy, runs specific fun-in-the-workplace programs for our centres,” he said.

“We’ve really tried hard to give franchise owners the tools to make it fun and push that culture right across the group. To win the advocacy award and be named runner-up for the Best Employer is a great honour.”
