Stephen Edwards has resigned as CEO of Snap Franchising after 15 years with the company.

The surprise move was announced yesterday in a brief company press statement that said Edwards has decided to devote himself to other interests and pursue new opportunities.

The industry identity and former PIAA board member started with Snap back in 2001 as chief operating officer before being appointed CEO in 2011 and driving the company's transformation strategy.

Edwards has declined to speak further at this time about the reasons for the move. "He would rather any further statements come from the company," said a Snap spokesperson.

The company thanked Edwards for his contribution:

Stephen has led and driven some of the most significant and impressive projects within the business. These include:

  •         Establishing the Group’s transformation strategy.
  •          Brand development and refresh.
  •          Project DNA, the biggest IT investment in the company’s history.
  •          Establishing a multimillion-dollar corporate accounts program for the business.

“We sincerely wish Stephen all the best for the future and thank him for the major contribution he has made to Snap throughout his career with us," said Peter Russell, Snap's non-executive chairman.

Tony Geange, GM Finance and company secretary, will be acting CEO until a replacement is appointed.

Snap Franchising is a leader in business printing, graphic design, web design, email marketing and marketing services. Australian-owned Snap has 160 owner-operated centres in Australia and a growing presence internationally, with 25 centres in China, New Zealand and Ireland.
