Snap staff dress up to beat the blues

The weather in Western Australia was a far cry from summer, but that didn’t stop all 23 staff at Snap Franchising and Snap Burswood from donning their shorts, sports and swimwear to raise money for charity.

In an effort to boost morale during the colder months, Snap CEO Grant Vernon, asked employees to dress for someplace they would rather be. The team responded with a colourful collection of costumes as diverse as Indian punjabi, pirate gear and devil horns.

“It is the middle of winter, we have just completed the financial year – it can be a stressful time,” said Vernon, who chose to put on his best whites and made an amazing transformation into Lleyton Hewitt.

“Sometimes it makes sense to let your hair down at work and getting out of
the corporate uniform is a great way to do it,” Vernon added.

Ruth Davies, Applications Support Analyst, who dressed as  ‘Succubus’ a character from World of Warcraft, the game (which she would rather be playing than attending work) won best costume and chose to donate proceeds from the day to Beyond Blue, an organisation for those battling depression.

According to Lidia D'Opera, Snap marketing manager, there were a few looks of surprise from members of the public. “When some clients came in to the office they wondered if they were in the right place or not!”
