Southern Colour prints onto a green canvas

The company promotes itself as an environment-friendly provider, and is the first printer in Australia to be granted a FSC Chain-Of-Custody accreditation.

The accreditation was issued through the Scientific Certification Systems Forest Conservation Program, with the FSC setting forth principles, criteria and standards that span economic, social and environmental concerns. The standard is billed as the world's strongest system for guiding forest management towards sustainable outcomes.

Rod Dawson, managing director of Southern Colour, says the accreditation is only the latest in a range of initiatives the company has introduced over the past 6 months.

“We recently gained certification in ISO 14001Environment, AUS/NZ 4801 Occupational Health and Safety and renewed our ISO 9001 quality certification,” says Dawson. “Southern Colour is also a member of the Greenhouse Challenge.”

Southern Colour customers are now able to access FSC products as part of their purchasing policy, as the accreditation completes the supply chain from the 'well managed' forest to finished printed products. Southern Colour has offices in several locations across Victoria, providing high-quality colour print to its range of corporate clients.
